Once again Gartner put Microsoft in the top spot. Gartner highlighted Microsoft’s ability to execute and the company’s completeness of vision. Last year, Microsoft pulled away from its main competitor, Tableau, and to this day continues to keep the leading position.
Microsoft offers a full portfolio of modern analytic capabilities. These include data preparation, data discovery, interactive visualizations and augmented functionality in the Power BI product. The report points out the significant evolution of BI over the last five years. Gartner also predicted the increasing use of natural language processing and modern analytics. Due to this increase, Gartner predicts that more users will be taking advantage of BI. The company expects a 15 percent increase in adoption rates among enterprise organizations.
According to Gartner, front-office staff will benefit the most. A number of business users, who are able to use data and analytics inside departments, will increase greatly at the expense of IT staff.
