According to International Data Corporation (IDC), a global IT market researcher, the global revenue from data analytics and BI will surpass USD $189 billion this year, a 13-percent increase from 2018. The upward trend is will continue and reach a projected $USD 247 billion by 2022.
Leading companies already using BI
These are very high numbers and justifiably so. Data analytics is adding big value to organizations that opt to adopt it. Data-driven companies are 23 times more likely to get new customers. Once they get customers, they are six times more likely to turn them into loyal customers, McKinsey Global Institute said.
Some executives are even more dramatic in their prediction. According to a Forbes articles, 79 percent of enterprise executives said that failing to embrace data would lead to the extinction of companies.
